<image:title>4 way block - 4 Way Block Pallet</image:title>
<image:caption>The four way block is the most commonly used pallet in the world. They use solid blocks of timber to support the full load. Typically, four way block pallets uses four to twelve blocks to support the top deckboards. between the blocks and the deckboards are thin stringers, which form a mat with the deckboard. Like in a stringer pallet, the length of a block pallet, is specified by the length of the stringer board and the width by the length of the deckboard. An advantage of using a 4 way block pallet, to name one, is that they can be lifted from all sides without limitation or strain on a particular area. The pallet is designed to be symmetrical given it’s 1:1 ratio in length to width. Back to Pallets</image:caption>

      <image:title>2 way bearer - 2 Way Bearer Pallets</image:title>
<image:caption>Two way bearer pallets can be entered by forklift trucks either from their front or rear. They break down into three basic elements: the deck boards, the bearers at each side and the bottom base boards. Usually, two way pallets are more economical to manufacture and often provide greater strength and durability than the common four way block pallet. Their key limitation is related to the lack of flexibility with regards to pallet entry, making full space utilization more of a challenge when loading freight vehicles or in warehouses or other distribution facilities. The key advantage of using two way bearer pallets is their direct strength & durability, which may be beneficial enough to compromise the utilization; allowing for only two way entry as opposed to four way. Pallets conforming to the standardization are eligible for the European Pallet Pool (EPP) - the system allows for an exchange as “pallet for pallet”. The EUR/EPAL - pallet is 1200 by 800 by 144 millimetres. it is a four way block pallet made of wood that is nailed with 78 special nails in a prescribed pattern. Whilst this pallet is similar to the four way block pallet. the euro pallet conforms with the above dimensions with a margin of error of 3 millimetres. Please note: we can make mock Euro Pallets (that are identical to the Euro/EPAL pallets), however at present we are not licensed to make the stamped Euro EPAL pallets. Typically you will find the 4 Way Block Pallets & 2 Way Bearer Pallets are modified to enact heavy duty weights. Our Heavy Duty Pallets usually come with 22mm thick timber, and depending on the required load can come with double deck of various cross sections, cross bonded, i.e.16mm x 2 or 22mm x 2. We can also double base them too for extra strength. Back to Pallets</image:caption>

The Light Weight Crate is built with thinner timber, typically the timber used has a thickness of 16mm. A large portion of our clients that use Light Weight Crates use them to reduce the weight of their load for sea & air transport. Another benefit of using the crate as opposed to a pallet for transport, is the security of visibility; the crate effectively distorts the contained items as opposed to stacking with pallets.
